This has been one of those never-ending, super long lasting, please put a bullet in my head if it doesn't end soon kind of weeks.
Nothing bad has happened (knocking on wood).
Yet, nothing marvelously fantastic has happened either.
Nothing fantastic at work, that is. We have a new puppy at home!!!
Hmmm...I already mentioned that?
sorry :-)
Everyone here is going out for lunch to finish up their holiday shopping. Some have even taken the day off to do so.
There are also those who doing all their shopping online. Which brings me to the stars of this post.
Look closely.
Do you see them?
That's right. Mail order frogs.
We're not sure what we're going to name them just yet. I think it would be wise to see if they last the weekend before we do.
The company president got a set for his grand kids, and while he was ordering them, he got a set for the office as well.
He's usually a tad grouchy over the holidays, but this year has brought a large improvement in the good mood and merriment department. It's quite nice actually.
These two dwarf African frogs are currently residing in the accounting department just around the corner from me.
It seems I've been deemed their foster parents....for two reasons 1) I opened the box and said "awwww" when we opened the packaging (what? they're cute!) 2) I used to work at a zoo.
Granted, I worked in finance...but I guess everyone feels that is plenty close enough.

So what are their names? Huh huh huh? B had one of those and she forgot to feed it for days and the inevitable happened and heres the "funny" part. I went to check on it and it was just kinds floating, I tapped the little tank as one does...and he disintegrated! Right before my very eyes. It was very weird. have a good weekend!
Disintegrated? As sad as that it, it also kinda sounds cool. :-)
Not sure on names yet...I said we should wait a week to make sure they make it....but I've got some ideas.
Flotsam and Jetsam.
Decimal and Comma.
FIFO and LIFO. (since they are in accounting right now)
Ashes and Dust.
My favorite so far is Eastwick and Salem.
But, they are the office pets, so it will have to go to vote I'm sure. :-) Unless I just do it, and people can deal. :-)
So this year he wasn't a 'tad' grouchy, but a tadpole (hehe).
Yes, what are their names?
Since they're in Accounting, how about Debit and Crdiet?
Oops! Credit!
Ooooh ooooh ooooh...I vote for FICA and FUTA!
Oh, and the process from whole frog to uuuhhhmmm dirt(?) took mere seconds. It was cool.
@ Amy - a tadpole!!! Love it!!!!
Debit and Credit...duh! That's kind of an obvious one us accounting people should have thought of. Darn it! :-) :-)
@ Brook - that poor poor frog! :-)~
Mail order frogs at work? What an idea! Your boss is way cooler than mine - mine would be afraid they'd violate some rule.
you are a brave woman...
@ g - It was completely out of character for him. We're all still in a bit of shock actually. :-)
@ moonspun - Brave? Nah!! :-)
I got a mail-order frog when I was 6 years old, and the thing is still alive today. (I'm 34.) Seriously.
@ Jon - that's awesome!!!!!! We were JUST talking about needing to look these things up to see how long they live. We moved it into a new tank today (the one it came with is TINY!) :-)
