Do I Dare??

Do I dare mention them? Should I risk even bringing up their existence?

I mean, in past years, when they've been mentioned......well, it's like Murphy's Law. Bring it up and if I don't want it to happen, it will....or vice versa.

What the heck am I talking about, you ask.

New Year's Resolutions!!!!

(crickets)

I know, I know! They are pure evil.......with good intentions.

Kinda like buying your niece a sugary beverage. You mean well, but the evil that comes after consumption is one for the record books!!!

Heinous @ Irregularly Periodic Ruminations(on Dec 30, I'm still trying to catch up) what their NYRs are this year.

My NYRs consist of things I always (in the back of my brain) want to accomplish. But, because it's the beginning of a new year, I'll call them New Years Resolutions. :-)

Let's see......

1) Spend at least one night a month with my niece and nephew.
* Those poor kids love me to death, and I'm always too busy to spend quality one on one (or rather, two on one) time with them. Even if it's just to take them to Subway for dinner one night, or a movie, or...well, anything really. They are such good kids! And since I don't have (and aren't having) any of my own...they will be forced to take care of me when I grow old and grouchy.

{just kidding kids}

{kinda}

2) Workout regularly.
* Yep, it's not something new. It's not imaginative. It's #1 on the list of most frequently appearing on American's NYR list. I know. But...it's #1 for a reason. I need to do it, plain and simple.

3) Limit myself to 1 hour of TV per week day.
* Unless hubby is watching with me. Then it counts as together time..and there's no limit. :-)

I'm leaving my list at 3. It's a nice, roundish, do-able number...don't you think???

Those sound like good ones. I only watch TV with my wife anymore; it's definitely together time. Other than that, I'm usually writing, blogging, or reading.

I'll make sure you stick to those ;)

So far, I've done really well with #2 and 3 on my list. I did watch more than 1 hour Tuesday night, but the show I was watching was 2 hours long. What's a girl to do?? I brought up laundry to fold while watching. I figure that made it ok. :-) :-)
