Springbrook 2010 (part 1)

On the second weekend of October, every year, the family (and lots of friends) gather together at Springbrook state park for a camping family reunion.

It's been going on for years, and years, and years. (I think we were calling last year the 40th anniversary)

This year we decided to be adventurous and take the hounds along. We knew Isaac was going to be OK. He's a really well behaved old man.

Sam, on the other hand, well she was going to be the chore. Her puppy energy is too much to handle in our house....let alone in a tent camping! :-)

You can tell they were both excited to go!!!

After we got our tent (and the boys tents) set up....Mot, myself, and the dogs went over to mom and dads site for lunch.

Then, we changed clothes and headed to the lake.

It wasn't until Mot got IN the boy's tent that he realized without the rain fly, it wasn't much of a private changing room. :-)

Sam, of course, LOVED having the lake so close.

Isaac could have taken or left it. Emmy seemed thrilled....but Houston...poor guy just wasn't too sure about that whole water thing.

Play time in the lake was too much for Emmy and Houston.

And Isaac!!!!

Sam probably dreamt about it all night! :-)

We all pretty much hid from the heat the rest of the afternoon.

For those of you that weren't reading this blog last year.....on the second weekend of October in 2009, we had to cut the weekend short due to snow. Crazy eh????

The boys arrived later that night.

What is this, you might ask? It's the newest addiction. Danny brought a HUGE container of candy corn and peanuts mix. The perfect combination was 3 peanuts, 2 candy corn. Heaven! :-)

After the boys got all of their gear unloaded, the 4 of us sat down to play a hand or two of cards.

Only they would bring an actual table lamp and table cloth. We had our own little bug-free world in that screen tent all weekend! :-)

(to be cont)
