It was our first introduction to Veggie Tales.
Do you all know what I'm talking about? The animated vegetables with arms and legs...dancing and singing...teaching lessons about morals, ethics, and good judgement?
The one we watched happened to center around Ms Blueberry...and her need for material things.
(Were they trying to tell us something I wonder?)
Anyway...one of the songs Mr. Blueberry herself sings....is III'mmmm soooooo blue-hue-hue, blue-hue-hue....
There were also dancing asparagus stalks singing about bungie cords.....and a tomato (Mr. Lunt?) singing about his love of cheeseburgers...or hamburgers...or something like that.
None of this has anything to do with the picture I'm posting today...except the wings of these butterflies were so blue-hue-hue, blue-hue-hue.......
I took this last weekend while visiting a butterfly house in St. Louis.

I love Veggietales. Not because of the moral/god talk though it is better than shoot 'em up video games for kids(which is why i am familiar with them) but because the idea of talking vegetables makes me laugh. That and having a family inside joke "bamboo bamboo" is pretty good since really, no one gets it but us. ramble. Pretty blue butterfly.
The talking veggies completely crack me up!! The personalities they've given them is hilarious!!!!!
The Veggie Tales characters don't have arms or legs. Or, at least not the ones I'm thinking of.
I like the songs they sing. They're pretty funny.
@ mjenks - you're right. They do just kinda bounce and hop around, don't they?
My sister pointed out the tomato's name is Bob...and we've since discovered the Mr. Lunt is a "decorative Spanish gourd."
Veggietales are creepy. They don't have hands. How can they carry stuff without hands?

My kid has a personalized Veggie Tales book and CD that he enjoys, and I find the music to be oddly catchy and only a little bit uncomfortably religious. I only wish they'd had Veggie Tales in my youth - we had to rely on old-fashioned Sunday school and church camp! Shame, though... it really didn't take, in my case. ;)

"A little bit uncomfortably religious"....perfect way to describe it! It's not "in your face"...and it's not like teaching kids morals and ethics isn't all bad I suppose. (hehe)
ah yes, we had the veggie tales run in our house when mini-me was younger.
that one didnt last too long with us....
