"It" strikes again.

I know I've written about 'it' before......my poltergeist.

It doesn't strike nearly as often as it used to....and for some reason....the little bugger has decided watches are it's favorite target in this new house.

Earlier this year it stole my new watch...and then, as usual, I found it in the strangest spot. Well, maybe not the strangest spot, per se....but in a spot I had looked quite a few times...and not found it.

Now, fast forward to this month.....another watch missing. I had it Wednesday afternoon (07/01), on my desk at work. And that's the last time I actually remember having it.

I looked everywhere it would have been.....nothing, nada. I'd written it off as stolen from work or the gym, or dropping it somewhere. But gone, none the less.

Last night I'm in my closet, trying to figure out what I'm going to wear today. I pick an outfit, then move onto what shoes I'll wear. As I'm trying on different shoes, I grab a pair I haven't worn for at least two weeks.

I pull one shoe out of the box, put it on the floor, and slip my foot into it.

Well....I tried to slip my foot into it.

My missing watch was in that shoe!!!!

The last time I wore those shoes was WELL before the last day I used the watch.

The shoes I was trying on were in a shoe box. There is absolutely NO reason for me to open that shoe box, put my watch in there...then put the box back and go on with life.

NO reason.

Yeah, that is just a little unnerving.

Whatever you do, don't try to communicate with it. It'll just make things worse.

I didn't tell Mot about it, until we weren't at home. Thought it safer that way. (hehe)

I don't know why you're so surprised. Poltergeists always go for watches because they're fascinated by time, which is ironic because they live outside of time now and are never late for anything.

I'm glad that they didn't choose your car keys, that could get real old real fast.

@ Mo - this one definitely is fascinated by watches. In our old house, he wasn't picky...everything was fair game. And actually, NEVER watches. Maybe it's somebody new now?? :-)

@ Ookami - car keys would mean war...for sure!!! :-) :-) :-)

Is that a poltergeist? I thought those inhabited electronic equipment.

Sounds more like a pixie or a brownie, I think.

Mmmmm...brownie...

@ mjenks, I think a poltergeist makes itself known by moving and influencing ANY objects. Some (especially those portrayed in a couple of fairly popular movies) may have an electronic 'vice' though. :-) :-) :-)

Holy heck, that would seriously freak me out! :S Especially as it seems to be following you around!

@ Girl Int, holy heck is right!!!! :-)

I'm thinking about putting RFID tracking devices on all my watches. :-)

Or one of those things that beeps when you clap. :-) :-)

@CWG, I don't think he is. Especially when I was getting ready to replace it, and it wasn't going to be the cheapest thing to do. :-)

As for scary, not too much really. Annoying as heck though. :-) We had this happening at the last house as well...but it wasn't watches. So, with my luck, the darn thing is following me around. (hehe)
