Taming of the Shoes: Slaying the Dragon

Can't go on vacation without buying at least one pair of shoes....right?

And, WHO goes to Denver with only one pair of slick (as in, fall on my butt on the ice slick) slip-ons (good for heightened airport security), a pair of running shoes (for the hotel gym I didn't go to), and a trusty pair of red Keen sandals?

Apparently I do. (sigh)

Do you see listed there anything one could wear in Denver, in the winter??

Warmth?

Traction?

Yeah...not so much.

My favorite Gortex hiking shoes were sitting on the floor of my closet...right by the suitcase when I was packing.

But somehow, they didn't make it into the bag.

So....we went looking for a pair of shoes I could wear and not fall on my rump while walking the streets of downtown Denver.

Although, I had my three boys to hang on to when the streets became treacherous. :-)

These weren't exactly what I was looking for.

OK, OK....they weren't AT ALL what I was looking for. But....they did have more traction than anything else I had with me. (giggle)

Traction is key. And you can't kill a dragon unless you have traction.
