I'm posting something that I rarely ever do. A self portrait. I was out walking through the state park last weekend, enjoying the weather. (No sarcasm there, I really do LOVE this weather!!)
While visiting the girls in Des Moines last year, I ended up with one of those Elmer Fudd hats, red, fur lined...goofy looking. All of my winter hats are a bit silly, and this one would fit right in.
Since snow was forecasted, I threw them in the car for fun. Didn't know I'd actually be glad I packed them. The sun had finally come up, so the headlamp was no longer necessary...but the hat was welcome warmth.

I find the uglier the hat, the warmer it is. Which is why I keep the one hat that my wife despises, because it is so freakin' warm.
I love it! Red must be your favorite color. I agree w/ BG-the uglier the warmer with hats but you know, this hat has a fuzzy furry cuteness that outweighs it's Elmer Fuddishness. It's just cold and frosty here-no snow =( though a girl can hope, pray and cross a few fingers and toes can't she?
I'm a big fan of headlamps on hats. When I'm Emperor I'll decree that everyone must wear one.

@ Brook - Red does seem to be the color I've taken up lately. Watch out, next year I might switch to blue?? :-)
