Taming of the Shoes: In the Nude

Haven't done a taming of the shoes post in quite a while.

Guess I haven't gone shoe shopping in quite a while.

I must fix this...stat! :-)

Taming of the Shoes: The beginning of an era...

...the strappy sandal era.

I was coerced into being a model in a fashion show put on by the chorus I sing in. This was 5 or so years ago.

I'd always had a mild addiction interest in shoes, but this show got me into my first pair of strappy sandals.

I'd always loved the look, but never thought I could pull it off, so, I never tried.

They are still the only pair I own.

I really need to fix that. :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Blue, Blue...Blue Suede Shoes

OK, so they're not suede. But they are blue.

That counts, right??

:-)

Taming of the Shoes: Pretty in Pink

I'm not much of a pink wearin' gal....but every once and a while I see something that makes me bend the rules a little.

Taming of the Shoes: Let's Get to the Point

Got these for a steal. Comfy as heck...and can double as a self defense weapon! :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Slaying the Dragon

Can't go on vacation without buying at least one pair of shoes....right?

And, WHO goes to Denver with only one pair of slick (as in, fall on my butt on the ice slick) slip-ons (good for heightened airport security), a pair of running shoes (for the hotel gym I didn't go to), and a trusty pair of red Keen sandals?

Apparently I do. (sigh)

Do you see listed there anything one could wear in Denver, in the winter??

Warmth?

Traction?

Yeah...not so much.

My favorite Gortex hiking shoes were sitting on the floor of my closet...right by the suitcase when I was packing.

But somehow, they didn't make it into the bag.

So....we went looking for a pair of shoes I could wear and not fall on my rump while walking the streets of downtown Denver.

Although, I had my three boys to hang on to when the streets became treacherous. :-)

These weren't exactly what I was looking for.

OK, OK....they weren't AT ALL what I was looking for. But....they did have more traction than anything else I had with me. (giggle)

Taming of the Shoes: Horray Responsibility

These are my responsible, business, brown, comfy shoes. Good for airports, touring plants and manufacturing facilities, and winter snowy days where tall heels don't do well. :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Aye Laddies and Lassies

Black Friday, the Olympics of retail shopping.

(sigh)

But better than the Olympics, because you don't have to wait 4 years for the next one to roll around!!

My sister, mom and I ended up at a shoe store (go figure)....and of all things for me to find, I didn't expect it to be the work boots Mot has been looking high and low for.

I didn't expect to get them for an additional $20 less.

And I sure didn't expect to receive a (basically) free pair of shoes for myself just for buying them.

Aren't surprises great?!?!?!?!?!

Taming of the Shoes: Coolest ones yet!!!

I don't own them yet.

I stress YET!!!

I squealed like a girl when I saw them....and did a little dance when I found out the display pair they had were my size so I could try them on!!!!!!

Taming of the Shoes: It's not easy being green.

Our quartet performed as a guest group for the Omaha Chorus of Sweet Adeline's annual show.

The story line to their show was what happened after the shoe fit. The happenings of Cinderline and Prince Charling, the evil stepmother, etc, etc.

We were instructed to dress in black, with touches of green.

I wore black slacks, black long sleeved button up shirt, a bright green tie, neon green finger and toe nails, and these shoes.......

The picture is a little dark, but the stitching on the shoes is bright green. Some days the fun things I find in my closet amazes me. :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Wherever I go....

Now I have that commercial stuck in my head....

My buddy, my buddy. Wherever I go, he goes.

Sorry about that. :-)

(ahem)

I noticed today that the shoes I'm wearing, I wear allot. Spring, summer, fall.....and probably even a few winter days they are with me. When we go on vacation, they are in my bag....when I go on a business trip, they go along. They're casual, they're not casual, they're quick to put on, and they don't have a heel.

I wear them so much, I'm surprised I haven't posted a pic of them before.

(Or maybe I have, and just forgot?)

Taming of the Shoes: Grey or Gray...tomayto, tomahto

Fell in love with these things, and when I bought them, I had nothing to wear them with. (Yeah, sometimes I can be such a girl.)

Comfy, spiky, sexy.....what more could a girl want?

Taming of the Shoes: Rock it out Amelia

Not the most historically accurate boots for Amelia Earhart....but they worked for the costume quite nicely. :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Boot weather is back!!

That's right....after having our first snow this weekend (to the tune of 5-6 inches), it's time to get the boots out from the back of the closet. I love wearing them but, as most of you know, I hate hot weather. And there's nothing hotter (temperature-wise) than wearing boots in the summer.

Now folks, I'm a pale skinned as the next person....but my legs look to be emitting their own light in this picture! I wonder if I can harness that power, and sell it to the local power company?

Taming of the Shoes: The woman in black

Shopping at DSW with my three guys last weekend. Needed to find some lower heels, something I could wear with slacks and jeans, black footwear.

I really should have taken a pic of the heels. They are triangular. With a shiny black buckle on the sides. Pretty sweet....and comfy!!! :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Retirment

No, no, I haven't retired.....but my running shoes have.

They still look so nice, so white, so clean, so full of life. But in the world of running shoes they are old, ancient, all washed up.

They are like a greyhound dog, who has been retired to being a house pet. No more racing, but plenty of life left to live.

I was wearing them when I bought the replacements. Was that wrong of me? Somehow insensitive to their feelings? :-)

About a week after I retired them, I wore them while using the weed-eater. I turned them green - bright "the grass is still wet, but I'm not waiting for it to dry" green!!!

Luckily, most of it came out in the wash. :-)

Awesome long blue jeans heels!!!!

Taming of the Shoes: It's all about the accessories

I bought myself a new purse the same night I got these. And it matches these shoes quite nicely. Happy coincidences....aren't they fun? :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Bowling in Style

My previous bowling shoes were ugly.

Not the cool ugly. You know, like rental bowling shoes. Those things are ugly, but uber cool.

No, my old bowling shoes were fugly.

So.....after taking advantage of a a local television station's gift certificate promotion for one of the bowling pro shops in town, I got these!!!! Wore them for the first time this past weekend. :-)

I bowled noticeably better than last week. We'll give credit to the shoes. Why not? :-) :-)

Taming of the Shoes: Funtional and understated.

Maybe not the most exciting shoes I own....but they go great with a khaki skirt on a casual day where I might be walking more than just around the office.
