They did what????

If you've read this blog for any amount of time, you've probably read at least one of my posts detailing a dream I had the night before.

If you haven't read one before, hang onto your hats...last night's was a doosey. :-)

I've actually been debating whether or not I want to post this. There's been a death in the family recently....and I can only assume that's what brought this dream on.

But, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that's what this darn blog is for. For me to tell stories...tell my dreams...tell my goals....put it all out there, because sometimes bottling it up just isn't any good for you.

So....here we go.....

In my dream I'm dying....of some disease. I don't know (or don't remember) what it was, and I wasn't actually suffering at the time of my dream. I just knew that I was going to die from it...whatever it was.

Instead of dying horribly, my doctors came up with a plan.

And for some reason.....we all went along with it.

They were going to put a hole in the top of my head....then crank my bed at an angle, so that my head was down. Then, I'd slowly drain out and die peacefully.

Oh yeah....this one was morbid!!!! :-(~

I've watched too much TV in my life.

As I'm laying there in my bed (with a hole in my head), Mot says something about how it's going to be sad in the morning.

HELLO!!!

Sad??

Just sad??

After a while, I was started to feel "funny" so I sat up.

This draining thing was for the birds!!!! I was going to live life until I couldn't do it anymore. I wasn't going to run and hide.

And then I woke up.

It was all I could do to get out of bed and go to the gym this morning. I just wanted to cuddle up to Mot, and let the day pass me by. But then, that felt too much like running and hiding....so I got up.

My workout was pretty much a waste. 2 miles on the treadmill. But.....at least I got up...right?

Post-it's and Freeze Pops

OK...so my post earlier this morning was a bit of a downer. I apologize for that. Life sucks sometimes. :-(

In return for bringing tears to some people's eyes (Brook and Emp #3699 - sorry about that)...I thought I'd share a dream I had last night.

Some days, my own mind scares me!

So...I'm at work. It's not my actual real life work building....it's a dream work building. 3 stories tall....and a least 2 city blocks long. And narrow.

Anyway, I'm in a meeting with co-workers. The co-workers are all people from my life, that I don't see anymore. We're on the 3rd floor, at the very end of the building.

I look up at the window, just in time to see the underside of an airplane going over the building. But it's not going over, it's going to hit it!!!!

I yell, and everyone ducks. The plane hits the building...but we're all OK. You wanna know why?

Because, the office we're in isn't at the end of the building any more. Nope, we're in the middle.

(physics don't apply in my dreams...neither do chemistry or meteorology, just so you know)

We all get up off the floor, dust ourselves off....and go to the kitchen.

From the freezer I pull out a box of Freeze Pops and start handing them out to everyone in the meeting.

We take our freeze pops, and walk out the door (we're no longer on the 3rd floor either - don't ask). We all wanted to see what the end of the building looked like after the plane hit it.

The building was in tatters. Dust, brick and plane bits everywhere.

There were also people. People missing appendages and heads and such. No blood...just random body parts and dead people.

I get my camera out to start taking pictures because "this will make a great blog entry."

(sigh)

After I finish taking pictures, we are led to the parking lot for safety. As I'm looking through my pics, I realize they aren't pictures. They are videos. My camera was left on video mode from the last time I'd used it. So I had nothing for my blog!!! (I guess video on my blog wasn't an option?)

So...what did we all do next? We started walking back to the site, to get me more pictures. Duh!

We were almost to the building when someone tells me their freeze pop is gone. Oh no!!!

We decide to go back to our office for more....in lieu of taking replacement pictures.

Once at the office, I started handing out new freeze pops. I was almost done when someone complained that theirs was smaller than the first one.

I looked down to see I was handing out post-it notes and not freeze pops.

The post-its were indeed smaller than the freeze pops I'd handed out earlier....but I wasn't receiving complaints for handing out post-its. I was just getting complaints they were smaller than the freeze pops.

You just can't please some people. :-)

(ugh)

And that's when I woke up.

It's Just a Flesh Wound.

I swear, I'm not drinking or doing drugs before I go to bed. I'm not eating right before hitting the sack. We have no gas leaks in the house (anymore - hehe), and I don't live next door to a nuclear power facility.

That being said...I've been having some of the strangest dreams lately. Or maybe I'm just remembering more of them?

Yeah, my vote is for the latter. I've had some doosies in my day.

So....last night goes like this.....

Mot and I are in Africa. Well....it's an "African Savanna" looking area. God knows where the savanna is located. Let's say.....South Dakota.

South Dakota has African Savanna vibes, don't you think?

Anyway (stay on track Nej, concentrate).....we're walking through tall grass....with a dog.

Actually, a pack of dogs I think.

And they are playing with a....what's that.....a......tiger? Um, OK. There's a tiger right there in front of us.

I wonder why it isn't a lion? Aren't there usually lions in the African Savannas? Oh well...it's got stripes, it's totally a tiger.

Hmmmm.....and it's playing with that dog. Isn't that cute?

No wait.....it's not playing....are they fighting?

Oh geez...it just ate that dog's leg. Holy crap!!!

Um......is that another tiger there beside it? Is it coming towards us?? Maybe if we ignore it, it will go away?

Nope, it's definitely coming this way. Maybe we should run??

No, too late to run...we have to fight it. It's just a cat right? We have guns.

Wait, why do we have guns? We didn't have these just a minute ago.

Oh crap....Mot...you seem to have a tiger attached to your arm. You think we should maybe get it to let go?

(sigh) Good, it just let go.

WAIT!!!

It didn't let go, it just left with your arm in it's mouth.

Well, that can't be good. You don't seem upset. Why is that??

Hey Sweetie....it's friend just took your other arm. I'm starting to get concerned.

No! We can't just pick you up a couple spare arms. Are you crazy?? Why would you suggest that?

They. Ate. Your. Arms.

Last I checked, you only get 2!!!!

Is this a dream? This has to be a dream?

Then I woke up. The End.

Dust Storms? What could dust storms possibly mean?

I woke up this morning, and just stared up at the ceiling. It wasn't dread from having to go to work....it wasn't from lack of sleep.....it was from my dreams. I was feeling the effects of a dream hangover.

A dream hangover is the feeling you have when you wake up from the strangest dream....and either a) try to figure out WTF is going on in your brain or b) sort through whether the dream actually happened, or not.

Last night, it was a) all the way. :-)

Mot and I were on vacation. In some sort of barren mountains. You know, the ugly ones, with scrub bushes, and no trees. (yes, yes...some people think they are gorgeous!! -Mel- but I prefer either green trees or white snow on my mountains...hehe)

Anyway.....a dust storm moves into the area. We pull our shirts up over our faces...and wait until it passes. It was mildly annoying, but everything was good once it passed.

Time passes...it's later in the day.

Another dust storm comes up...but this one is much worse. We take cover in a nearby grocery store (in the mountains, in the middle of no where). The storm is so bad, it's opening the doors of the store, and throwing sand and dust in to the air inside. I run to a door to help keep it closed...while Mot runs to the back of the store to help with the loading door.

Time passes.....it's later in the day.

You can see a huge dust storm coming over the mountains....we decide to run to a friend of mines' house to ride it out. She lives in Iowa. (don't ask, it's a dream!) We knock on the door, say hi...then rush inside and slam the door shut. Apparently she's not experienced any of the other storms...they seem to be localized to where Mot and I are at the time. We lock, bolt, and barricade all the doors in an attempt to keep the sand out.

Time passes....it's later (same day? next day?)

We're sitting on the upstairs balcony of my friends' house. We decide it's time to leave...but know there is another storm on the way.

What is our solution?

We grab a mini excavator (I've been watching allot of landscape remodeling shows lately).

It looks like this one, but has two arms (with a bucket on each arm).

The plan....we take it with us...then when a storm comes up...we can put the arms low to the ground, turn the buckets flat, so that we can hide under them until the storm passes.

Yeah...um....well....it made perfect sense in my dream. :-)

We didn't want to have to rely on the help of others. We wanted to continue with our vacation, and be ready for the elements. Just like bringing rain gear, extra snacks, and a first aid kit.

Makes perfect sense....right?

And, surprisingly, the excavator wasn't heavy....in fact, we had to hold it down over us when the next storm hit, so it wouldn't fly away.

(It was either made of paper mache, or we are really strong in my dreams...take your pick.)

It's about then when I decide this must be a dream and I really should wake up.

It's not unusual for me to dream about tornadoes. But dust storms????

Huh??

So, I had this dream.

I was on a hunting trip with Mot and his oldest brother (and family).

We went to a building to do this hunt...yes, in a building. The building was miles and miles long....but maybe only 50 foot across.

Inside the building.....a river....and jungle. It was an indoor Nile for crying out loud!

What were we hunting for? Sea Manatees.

Hello? Who hunts these things?

They seem all nice and sweet in the real world. You hear stories about boat propellers chopping up their backs and such.

In my dream, they weren't so nice. And, they aren't grey in color. In my dream, they were royal blue on their heads and tails...and the middle of their bodies were yellow.

(sigh) Where does this stuff come from?

We finally cornered one....and I was terrified. The thing looked all cute and innocent...but I knew there was a vicious beast there. Next thing I know, it takes on a New Jersey accent, and starts threatening me. Talking smack all over the place.

Then more of it's friends arrived as backup.

As we don't take kindly to being berated by anybody, including technicolored water mammals, we killed them.

And had to store the meat in white Styrofoam coolers.

Once we reached the end of the building....we turned around to go back. But, we couldn't take the canoes - the water only flowed one direction. Makes sense, right?

On the way back, we were hungry...and had no food. It was taking much longer to hike out, than it did to paddle in.

We all started pulling down these vines from the trees. The vines were a foot wide, maybe 1/2 inch thick...and bright white.

Yes, bright white vines. (double sigh)

We called the vines, Jamaica...or something like that. And, they were made of bacon...quite tasty.

About halfway back to the entrance of the building....we ran into some trouble. I can't remember what the trouble was....if was animal attack, weather...who knows. All I do know, is that I ended up in charge of carrying a baby. This kid was no more than 1 or 2 months old. He was a boy...but he was wrapped in a pink blanket. He was so small....5 or 6 pounds, max.

And....he could talk. He was a smart little shit actually. We talked the whole way back. I can't remember what we talked about...but I do remember it was very interesting.

Once out of the building, I suddenly found myself in the house of a good high school friend I haven't seen since high school.

The little baby boy was hers. Why the baby was on the trip, when she wasn't....and how I ended up with him....I have absolutely NO idea!!!

I'm assuming my alarm started going off...or maybe my bladder was trying to tell me to get out of bed...because about then, my dream switched to me standing in my current day closet. I was picking out a shirt to wear to work.

I dream about what I'm going to wear to work...more often than I'd like to admit. Quite a few mornings, I find myself standing in my closet, staring at my clothes...not knowing what to wear......so the days I dream about an outfit are awesome!

When I finally got up, I went downstairs to my closet.....and realized the shirt I had dreamed about wasn't actually a shirt I owned.

Damn, I hate that!!!

And it was a really cool shirt. :-)

New Levels of Strange

I've reached a new level of strange.

Actually I reached it last night.

I couldn't sleep....just laying there in bed...wide awake. I had fallen asleep when I first laid down....but woke up about 2:00 am or so...and couldn't get back to sleep.

When I WAS sleeping...I was carrying on 5 distinct dreams, at the same time.

It was like the movie Pulp Fiction, or the Dean Koontz book Strangers. I kept jumping from story line to story line.

Only, I have no idea if the stories were ever going to meet at the end.

And, to make matters worse, when I jumped to the next story, the current one hadn't finished.

It was like watching soap operas on TV...on Friday afternoon. None of them end. They leave you with a cliff hanger. Making it impossible to not come back on Monday and see what happens.
